x.x ...will add...comments...tomorrow...*dies*
EDIT: Okay! Phew. I think this one almost tried to kill me...mainly because I never before have been ambitious with my photoshop colouring. I have few photoshop colouring skills, so Kitty17794's poor character Aimee got selected as my guinea pig. Oo;;
I don't even know where to start with talking about this...um...okay. Well, complaints. I wish I could figure out how to make it CRISPER. Its kinda nice looking from a distance, but up close shows a massive lack of detail. I think at about 1 am I started going gaussian blur-happy or something. So, I may finally crack and keep working on it, trying to tighten it up a little, but we'll see. (oh, and interesting factoid: can we say "69 layers?" x.x)
Now for the credits! lol
Inspiration from

I attempted a hair tutorial (
[link]) by

, but of course could not do it .half. as gorgeously as the lovely artist herself. She is my HERO at hair.
And the lovely character herself, belonging to

, was pulled from two of her pixel pieces:
[link] and
[link] . I will also note that I shamelessly stole her title, because I am made of fail at creative titles. You're all lucky I didn't name this "Redhead With Peacock Feather," to be honest.
Aimee Alcina (c)

, who is my hero for creating interesting characters and letting me draw them.
Nevertheless:
Bravo!
I think what you want to achieve is more contrast. Stronger shadows, they make shapes stand out more and give that 3d feel. This piece almost looks like a vector drawing, that`s ok if you want to achieve that style, but I get the feeling you`re going for realism here.
Maybe a hint for next time (I think you should do more with this, you`ve got some potential here) Think in 3d and with that in mind don`t be afraid to slap some shadow colours on it. There are plenty of good tutorials about lighting and shadow around here.
All in all it looks really nice! I like how determined she looks.
Keep up the great work!
